How influencers are responding to COVID-19

Over the past couple of weeks, Rich Digital has been tracking how influencers are activating their audiences amongst COVID-19. We’ve wrapped up our 5 findings here;

1. GOVERNMENTS LEVERAGING INFLUENCER VOICES.

The UK and the US have partnered with influencers and to use their mass followings as a way to combat the spread of misinformation.

2. THE INFLUENCER LANDSCAPE WILL RESET.

It’s important for influencers and celebrities to keep their privilege in check. They need to offer something other than an aspirational lifestyle to their followers.

3. THE PULSE IS ON TWITTER.

While not often considered a go-to platform for many branded influencer activations, Twitter is where COVID-19

conversations are happening. Influencers are joining in conversation.

4. A HELPING HAND.

Many celebrities are choosing to go the traditional way when it comes to helping out in a crisis by donating large sums of money to fight the virus.

5. FREE ENTERTAINMENT.

With the absence of sport, events and concerts, celebrities and influencers are finding ways around it by creating funny videos, TikToks or home concerts like John Legend and Diplo.
